Fleur di Lis - Vibrant Orange

This is a new technique I have been playing around with in the kiln.

Colored and clear glass is combined in the kiln and taken to a temerature of about 1500*.

A brass stamp is then placed into the hot glass and held for about five seconds while the glass cools down to about 1000* then left to rest overnight.

That is a very brief summary of a nearly 14-hour process.

The glass embossing or stamping has endless possibilities and I am having a blast doing it.

The small piece shown above is a two-inch square orange piece of glass with a clear piece covering the top with a pretty Fleur di Lis stamped into the top of it.
